i-Model

i-Model is a module, which can be integrated with i-Term and which allows the user to build complex graphic representations of relations between concepts in i-Term, so-called concept systems or ontologies. i-Model supports traditional terminology work methods for concept modelling. You can get an overview of a subject area by adding characteristic features and subdivision criteria to the concepts and thereby be assisted in creating consistent definitions.

Create large and complex diagrams with only a few clicks of the mouse. Diagrams, that are almost impossible to draw in e.g. Word or PowerPoint.

Among the users of i-Model are The Copenhagen Business School who uses it to introduce students to working with ontologies, The Copenhagen Hospital Corporation (H:S) who uses it in their terminology project determining the meaning of concepts within the healthcare sector in connexion with the development of an electronic health record system.
i-Model is also an important tool for the Danish IT Terminology Group in their work to develop an on-line IT dictionary (www.it-dansk.dk). And NORDTERM, an association of organisations and societies in the Nordic countries which are engaged in terminology work, training and research, uses i-Model on-line in seven Nordic countries in order to create concept systems for concepts within the field of terminology.
